Mobile UX, the experience of our users
With the transformation from analogue to the digital world, the user experience plays a key role in consolidating the appeal of any product.
In a world that is in a state of permanent change, it is clear that the mobile experience is currently the key contact point in each of our daily actions. Consumers, users and customers are linked with companies and with the content that companies offer them through their cell phones. According to an eMarketer report, this trend will continue to deepen and it is estimated that m-commerce or mobile commerce will double again before the year 2023. In fact, since 2020, this channel has established itself as the main engine of retail sales within Latin America. Of course, it’s something that all the research had highlighted when looking at this region, an area where the smartphone market grew faster than the rest of the world. Currently, eight out of 10 Latin Americans have a smartphone and a new one is activated every five minutes. For example, in Argentina, 63% of browsing time occurs through mobile devices and twice as many pages are visited through smartphones than via desktops. This way, an increase in the number of smartphone users coupled with improvements in connection speeds, drives the steady growth of m-commerce.
To make a Mobile Product successful, it is essential to have a team that has clear objectives. In the case of Music Brokers, the user experience is a priority in the launch of each project. As in the music area, for each Mobile proposal, in addition to the permanent tech staff and developers, the company gathers an ad hoc team with previously designed responsibilities, roles and strategies.
Interface design, for example, is a key aspect that involves not only certain expertise regarding visual aesthetics but also in relation to “usability”. One of the keys for users to access, trust and value the product to which they will subscribe. Each mobile application must be useful and intuitive, fundamental elements when making decisions about the design in general. Usability testing is an important tool that allows you to test each functionality, analyze possible user reactions, and determine whether or not the result conforms to what was planned in the previous stage. The feedback reported by those who perform the test is crucial to implement the required improvements.
Navigation is another of the key factors since it directs users; it is the compass that allows movement within the application and precise access to the content provided. In addition to being clear and concise, the navigation must be attractive and avoid unnecessary levels at all costs. A good interface, and in addition, the experience that is displayed thanks to it clearly shows whether or not the app is focused on the user. According to research conducted by the Nielsen Norman Group, the first ten seconds of a user on a website or in an app are critical in determining the decision to stay or leave, adopt or discard a certain app. Therefore, offering the best experience is the launching pad for all subsequent work.
